L’associazione

L’Associazione Culturale Lelefante è nata inizialmente senza forma e senza nome come sodalizio tra persone strette dalla voglia di parlare e di fare.
L’associazione formale è figlia dell’esigenza di organizzazione di una delle nostre maggiori attività, il festival internazionale di cortometraggi Fatfilmfest (inizialmente chiamato Fattizze Film Festival). Dopo un po’ di anni dalla prima edizione del Festival (2003) abbiamo infatti pensato che darci una forma associativa ci avrebbe permesso di coinvolgere maggiormente altre persone e di interagire con differenti realtà e con gli enti locali.
Il Festival è cresciuto enormemente – come si confà ad un elefante – e dalla prima edizione, organizzata con i pochi film consegnatici dagli amici, siamo arrivati a coinvolgere giovani autori di svariate nazioni e a creare un vero evento internazionale che, a quanto ci dicono partecipanti e pubblico, è assolutamente unico.

The association

The cultural association Lelefante came to life without a name and without any formal document, when a group of people met by chance during their vacation in Puglia and found a great pleasure in talking to each other and in doing things together. The cultural association was only formally established in 2006 in order to organize the international short film festival Fatfilmfest connecting it with the local cultural and administrative network.

The Fatfilmfest, originally named as Fattizze Film Festival, which is the main event managed by the association, was first organized in 2003 with very few films mainly made by our friends. Since then we were able to present films of an increasing number of great young authors, from all around the world, who found out about us on the web or through our friends. Consequently, our small festival had truly become international and is, as the participants and the audience of our festival tell us, a unique cultural event.
